What is the difference between wild and farmed salmon?
The main difference is that we can guarantee the consistent quality and fat content of farmed salmon all year round. Farmed salmon usually has a higher fat content than wild salmon. This is due to the composition of the fish food, and the fact that they have plenty of food. Food for Norwegian farmed fish is produced in accordance with EU regulations. The food contains no prohibited additives and production is carefully controlled, in accordance with the Norwegian Seafood Export Council regulations for fish in Norway.
Most of the fresh and frozen fish comes from Norway. It is farmed in large open net cages in the deep fjords along the Norwegian coast.
