Albin Pålsson worked at the technical factory in Halmstad that produced, among other things, mustard, soya and soft drinks. In 1930, Albin took over the production of soft drinks and moved to Vattugatan, where a few years later, he started to produce mustard, which he called Halmstad mustard.

The Frode family bought the production and the trademark ”Halmstad mustard” in 1954, which they, in turn, managed until Falkenberg Salmon Smoke-house AB bought it in 1993.

The mustard is still produced using the same mix of ingredients, but the packaging and portioning have changed over the years.
