Environmental policy

Our focus is on sustainable development

Falkenberg Salmon Smoke-house aims for long-term sustainable development.

We improve fish. Fish are dependent on good environmental conditions. If the environment is not good, the quality of our raw ingredients will deteriorate and we will not survive as a food producing company.

The organisation should be adapted to the demands in force in the area of the environment, which contribute to a good environment. There is continuous knowledge gathering and on-going improvement in this area.

Precautions will be extended to the prevention of measures that could damage the environment. The use of energy and water will be efficient. The smoker ovens are modern with catalytic smoke-cleansing. Waste water goes through a fat separator and then into neutralization tanks to reduce the strain on municipal drains.

Deliveries to customers are coordinated as far as possible. Waste is separated and all combustible material goes to a recycling plant.

Packaging material shall, whenever possible, be produced from recycled material to protect the environment. The use and choice of cleaning material and other chemicals is discussed with the chemical supplier with the aim of being as environmentally-friendly as possible.

The environmental policy shall be familiar to everyone, firmly established and applied at all levels in the company.

The company has started working towards ISO 14001 Certification.
